Virgin of Guadalupe Sacred Art

The Virgin of Guadalupe is a Marian devotion whose message full of love and mercy from God and his Mother brought to fullness the faith of a believing people, a message of reconciliation that achieved the humanly impossible: the instantaneous conversion of millions of indigenous people and the union of two races, of two cultures that seemed irreconcilable.

On December 12, 1531, according to traditional accounts, the Virgin Mary appeared to the Indian Juan Diego on the hill of Tepeyac and ordered him to tell the bishop of Mexico, Fray Juan de Zumárraga, to erect a temple for her.
The image of the Virgin is a solar flower whose center represents the Child Sun, and whose position indicates perpetual movement, that is to say, that in the womb of Mary is God, Omnipotent and Eternal, true Sun that has become close and comes not to destroy but to illuminate.
